Home Renovations

You painted the doors BLACK!

Yes, I painted the doors black! This was a conversation I had at practice a few days ago with a realtor friend about the foreclosed house we bought.

Hallway renovation

  1. Tear up stained vinyl flooring
  2. Remove boob light! & install recessed lighting! (our contractor installed the recessed lights for us)
  3. Paint all the walls & trim
We painted the walls and trim the same color. We found the color as at an old building we had that was left over paint from the previous owner. We used the paint & loved it! It was just the warm whiteish color I was wanting. We ran out of the paint and had Home Depot match the color.
  4. Replace all outlet covers.
  5. Paint the concrete floor BLACK! We used a concrete paint to paint the floor black. We haven’t sealed it yet that’s why there are scratched from when we moved furniture in. So we really need to do some touch ups and seal them
  6. Change the doorknobs. We changed all the doorknobs and replaced them with gold doorknobs. These door knobs are heavy duty. They come with extra screws and a plate for the door frame. The doors close so smoothly now. The previous doorknobs were key locks. Kali locked me out of the room with her and the baby in there and I had to calmly plead with her to let me in. So needless to say, the only door that locks is the bathroom now.
  7. Paint the doors BLACK! We used Emerald paint from Sherwin Williams (around $100 a gallon but so worth it). The paint goes on so smoothly and does not scratch easily.

The black doors create a statement!

I LOVE the black doors. I have a friend who just built a home in Georgia. All of the interior doors are black. It’s different and it’s beautiful! I’m so proud of ya’ll. Your flip house was beautiful and this one will be too!
