Ever been so stressed all you can do is Laugh

Tuesday was the Monday”est” Tuesday ever!

Justtttt when you think you’re handling life well and able to breathe, something comes up. & It doesn’t just rain, it usually POURS! Right?

Soooooo my car has been making a sound for a while now when I turn the steering wheel, and we have been postponing getting it fixed. It is now to the point we have postponed as long as we can. The car is wobbling, and I can not drive it anymore.

So to the shop it goes!

Or at least we thought it would be that simple….

There were 2 local family owned places that could fix the problem, but neither of them could get my car in until the end of the week. So in the driveway my car would sit… But with my job requiring me to travel daily, no car was a bit of an issue.

Monday was full of meetings for work, but thankfully I was able to borrow a family members car while mine continued to rest in the driveway.

My car having to sit was just the drizzles of the rain that I am typically able to handle pretty well.

Then, here comes TUESDAY!

Tuesday, I had a meeting at 3:30 PM in Baton Rouge. My aunt needed her car that morning, but she said I was able to borrow it for my meeting.

The drizzles are about to turn into pouring down rain

So I get her car at 3 and am headed to my meeting when I get a phone call from Kardaryl which I am anticipating him to tell me he is off of work and on his way home. But that’s not what I hear…. I hear frustration and defeat in his voice….

Then he says, “My truck wont start, and I need you to come get me.”

Thankfully, I was already in my aunt’s car & didn’t have to find a vehicle to go pick him up with. I immediately call & cancel my meeting so that I can go pick him up 45 minutes away.

Now, we are BOTH without vehicles!

The car ride home is extremely quiet.

My mind is running, but I wanted to formulate my thoughts before I spoke and overwhelmed him with jibber-jabber thoughts.

So I said above, I typically handle drizzles well but when rain comes, I tend to worry a little bit and my head starts to run.

Going through my head is costs of fixing not 1, but 2 vehicles that are currently parked and not moving. Also going through my head is how are we both going to manage getting to and from work when neither of have a vehicle….

Ready for the lightening show?

We get home after our long quiet car ride home, at this time its dark. We picked the boys up. Kardaryl puts left over food in the oven to rewarm it & immediately the power goes off (& it stayed off for about 3 hours).

At this point, the only this I could do was laugh. I knew it was nobody but God watching over me to see how well I handled everything.

So to find light in the rain, I choose to not stress & make the best of what I had been given. I folded laundry in the dark (which might have not been the best idea because the next day some of it was found inside out still), the boys completed several puzzles together, & Kardaryl ate cold fries for dinner.

This quiet time reminded me that our troubles at the time were minuet compared to what other people go through.

I was instantly reminded that we are blessed to have a roof over our heads, live in a country that has power, have not 1 but 2 vehicles, and have supportive friends and family to help support us when we are struggling.

" Is there anybody's sunshine
Been turned to rain?
Is there anybody's blue sky
Been turned to gray?

Is there anybody's good time
Turned out real bad?
Is there anyone's happiness
Turned out sad?

And I know I can't trust in the things that I see
In the things that I see
All I know, He's at work and He's working on me
He's working on me "
